The Award Goes To : Breguet La Tradition

Two different awards won by "Breguet Tradition" timepiece. This is an annual event organised by Montres Passion and Uhrenwelt trade publications. The winner was decided by a professional jury of the publications. The show took place in Lausanne on November 2, 2005. The Breguet Tradition watch was voted "Watch of the Year 2005" that is the highest recognition of this event for any watch brand.

Breguet A pillar of watchmaking tradition, Breguet has a long and distinguished lineage. Its founder, Abraham-Louis Breguet is considered by many as the father of watchmaking. Indeed, he is one of the greatest horologists of all time. Since 1775, clients have included Napoleon Bonaparte, Marie-Antoinette, Winston Churchill, Alexander Dumas, Princes, Dukes, Sultans and Kings. Breguet's influence on watchmaking is unequalled. He perfected the self-winding watch, created the first oil-free escapement, incorporated the first shock absorber into a timepiece, developed perpetual date mechanisms, and invented and patented the Tourbillon. Signature Breguet styling is evident in today's masterpieces; blue steel hands, guilloche engraving, and the fluted caseband.

What a great way to show the mechanics of the watch. Very subtle and simple design elements.

Yes, I like the watch because of the mechanism details

I agree that exposing the watch's mechanics makes it unique, expensive and beautiful. However, I live a very hectic lifestyle and want to see the time right away, and not squint like I would with this watch.

I am a woman, but I prefer wearing my dad's old watches, or this Piaget Altiplano: http://piagetusa.com/2_Altiplano.html. It's very uncomplicated, stylish and I can see the time right away.

(... and no, I'm not THAT old.)
